I’m based in Amsterdam, Holland, but I’m originally from London. I taught myself to write for the screen by going to screenwriting workshops (e.g., Robert McKee, Raindance), watching and studying movies, reading and analyzing screenplays and reading how-to books. I’ve written and co-written several feature scripts and shorts, both animation and live action. I’ve been commissioned to write a couple of feature treatments, I’ve co-written a pilot episode for an animated TV series, and co-written a number of episodes for another children’s animation series (unfortunately, unproduced). I also help other screenwriters as script reader/editor.
My short script Second Thoughts was shot in April 2011 by Trevor Walsh of White Tiger Films. Check it out at www.vimeo.com/24360879.
At the moment I’m busy pitching my historical thriller "Servetus," based on the true story of Renaissance physician Michael Servetus, who is sentenced to death by the Inquisition for his heretical writings, escapes France to Protestant Geneva, only to find his former Protestant ally John Calvin wants him dead too.
I’m also busy writing another spec, a Britcom set mainly in Bulgaria...
I do my best to update my screenwriting blog, ravingdaveherman, from time to time.
